My Experience with EFT

(Emotional Freedom Techniques)

By David B. Bohl | May 1, 2008 | No Responses Yet

The other night I engaged in my first experience with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). A good friend of mine, Dianne Keast, makes it her business to share these techniques with others, and she convinced me to give it a try.

I must admit that I was highly skeptical of what Dianne offered, yet I opened my mind and heart as far as I was able. What I experienced was much more than I ever expected.

I was so moved by what occurred that I asked Diane to submit a guest post. Here it is:

EFT is a relaxing self applied form of acupressure; tapping gently or rubbing with the fingers while using a focus statement. Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) has proven successful in thousands of clinical cases and has been featured on Oprah, CNN and The Discovery Channel. It has been used for all kinds of issues such as: stress related illnesses, test anxiety, chronic pain, cravings, phobias, sports performance, children’s anxiety, PTSD and more. The best part; once you learn to use this anti-stress tool, it is yours, to use whenever you like. (This revolutionary healing aid was developed by Gary Craig @ emofree.com.)

EFT is unique for several reasons:

  • An EFT Practitioner can conduct an appointment in person, over the phone or internet.
  • It is self applied and can be used individually or in a group.
  • People of all ages can learn to use it.
  • Parents can apply it with their children.
  • It is quick to learn, easy to apply and works fast.
  • Newcomers don’t need experience to benefit.
  • It often works where nothing else has.
  • It can promote all types of healing by reducing the body’s physical and emotional stress load.

My name is Dianne Keast and I am a trained EFT Practitioner. EFT has changed my life; it has helped me, my baby, my friends, family and clients.

I asked David to try EFT so that he would have a better idea of what it is that I do for my clients.

David and I did a breathing exercise together over the phone and I tapped along as I guided him through his first EFT experience. As an EFT practitioner I can usually tell in the first 5 minutes of session whether or not the technique is having a positive effect for my client. I could immediately hear a slight change in David’s voice and breathing, he confirmed this after we finished our first round of tapping, saying that he felt his body was less tense and his breathing was more relaxed.

We continued to tap a second round; because there was a marked positive effect I suggested we add a positive choice to our final round. I asked David to tell me how he would like his breathing to feel and we used his words to form a positive choice statement. At the end of this round of tapping David reported feeling very relaxed and said that the aches & pains he in his body were fading away. He later reported sleeping like a baby that night. (I learned this exercise from EFT Expert Rebecca Marina @ celebrationhealing.com . The EFT Choices Method was developed by EFT Master Dr. Patricia Carrington @ masteringeft.com)

As an EFT Practitioner I’m so sure that EFT will help you feel better and live better that I offer an absolute guarantee to my clients: If I can not help you get results with EFT, your appointment is free.
