Dear Janna,

No doubt! I think I have the same two dogs! (I have two Black Labs).

Competition is a part of life, yet we don't always have to show up and compete if we choose not to.

Dear Mary,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I'm sure you have many other endeavors that are competing for your time, and I'm honored that you chose this one to devote your energies to.

I agree with you, and I need to keep things simple. Yes, we live in competitive times. Yet the key is to function in this world without becoming part of every aspect of it.

Good points, David, I think that competition is healthy and a natural part of the circle of life. I'm sitting here as my dogs wrestle around on the carpet; yes, they're competing, but it's all in good fun of course! Just a way to establish hierarchy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I was reading one of the comments over at the Change Blog where this was posted. Someone challenged the idea that the world is competitive and suggested you lighten up, or something along those lines.

I think that is a highly competitive statement in itself.... competing viewpoints, if you will.

I don't feel that the word competitive equates to "combative" and yes, I DO feel pulled in multiple directions in my life, with priorities, time, people and events all "competing" against each other. And yes, I do think it's wise to try and live and work in ways that keep your head in the game, so to speak.

In other words, I don't have a problem with the concept of competitiveness - I think it still exists in everyday life no matter what we're calling it or whether we're even acknowledging it!

Thanks for the great thoughts.
