When I read your article, I thought of a favorite passage I quote from time to time. It is taken from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where–” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
“–so long as I get somewhere,” Alice added as an explanation.
“Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”

I really enjoyed your post. I used to think success was the six figure income, nice clothes, corner office, climbing the corporate ladder, and a snazzy title. Not anymore; I grew up!

To me success is doing what I love and loving what I’m doing. It means peace and happiness and being able to be myself, not caring what others think of me. I’m reminded of the saying “what others think of me is none of my business.” Rebecca

I definitely enjoy your explanations about what success is and the fact that there is really no finishing line. It is important that we take a more holistic view to what success really means; oftentimes, we neglect many important factors. We only wake up to what these factors are when we hit upon challenging times with them.
