yep eventhough it's possible that we can succeed on our own. Why take the hard way when there's an easy way out?

So true. I'm reminded of the teaching of Jesus here when he says to "Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened to you." There is a fundamental truth in the world in which we live that we most often can find the good things we desire if we dare to simply ask and open ourselves up to receive them. Thanks for the post!

Along the same lines, a lot of times people don't allow themselves to ask for what they really want. They pre-edit their requests for fear that it is not acceptable. I know I've done that myself. It's a tough habit to break.

But really -- we gotta get to the heart of the matter, always. Skirting around the issue only delays getting what you need.

Nice article, David,

I think the other side of asking is expecting and/or letting in the asked for item or condition. What I call the "yes, but" syndrome is all too prevalent.

Sometimes the words "yes" and "but" are in the speech or thought pattern and sometimes not. For example, "Yes, I really want a new job, but I don't think I can get it."

Or, "She/He is really wonderful, except for ___" Or, "I really want more money flowing in my life. Now, how can I get that product/service for free?"

So, yes, ask for want you want and then let the Universe deliver by being in a state of happiness, eagerness, and expectancy.

This is an area where I've had trouble in the past. I could ask God for help, but not people.

As I work to grow my business and enhance my life, I've become more comfortable with asking for help. In her book, Refuse to Choose, and her seminars, Barbara Sher emphasizes that you can accomplish whatever you want if you get enough people to help you. I now subscribe to that approach and find that people are delighted to help you achieve a worthy goal.
