Ohh... I meant hands and feet touching the floor! Maybe that other move I described might work for Plastic Man.

Cool topic (as usual). I do "yoga moves" and rest my eyes. Sometimes after a long day of being inches away from a computer monitor I just get this feeling like I should probably be hanging upside-down for some bloodflow to the head - so I'll actually do that.

You don't have to go get a yoga book and study the poses and try to get them right. That's work. We're going for relaxation here. So get some comfy lounge pants on and dangle yourself over the side of a couch arm. Bend at the waist with your arms and legs on the floor. Roll around until your back cracks. Stretch. Stretch. And streeeetch some more.

I sit back with with iPod and listen to some of my favourite relaxation music, or follow a guided relaxation exercise. I've been doing this for years if I'm stressed or have a bad headache and it really helps me.

As a Christmas gift to the visitors to my blog I've made a free hypnosis relaxation mp3, the idea behind it was to offer a break from the stress and rushing about that can come with Christmas.

with thanks for your thought provoking posts,
Ananga

Well, I need a new one. My old one got too old and I haven't reinstalled it.... but for many years, when I was the most stressed, running up one wall and down the other.... I'd bust out quake, frag a few levels and be completely relaxed.

Only virtual things hurt, and stress gone.

Dancing! Something stompy (Prodigy's "Firestarter) gets out a lot of aggression and stress. Something pretty (Like VNV Nation's "Perpetual") takes my brain out of my body. And something goofy (B-52's Love Shack) makes me feel happy. You better believe I make time for dancing.

I've taken to going for long walks in the local countryside with my camera in tow. I've been feeling really stressed with lots of pressing work deadlines and, of course, tons of xmas prep. So, the other day there I went for a walk in the freezing cold around a loch not too far from where I live, and it was just bliss. Thoroughly recommend it!
